EX3700 – AC750 WiFi Range Extender > unable to connect to home wifi

I'm unable to sync my new wifi range extender with my wifi. Set up it so it's emitting the two new networks "_2GEXT" and "_5GEXT" but when I try to connect to them using my current wifi password its rejected. Can't get any further than this... any ideas?

    Try connecting to the extender with a hardwired connection. The EX3700 has an ethernet port on it and many times setting up goes smoother with a hardwired setup. you can plug into it and then try to go the mywifiext.net

    usually from there you can go through the setup process manually.
