EX6100v2/AC1200 WiFi extender very undependable
I have been using this range extended for a couple of months. It was easy to set up, found my wifi, accepted the passwords, and created the extension networks. My devices readily log in and see a str...

All one floor. Just walls, but around a corner that results in two external walls.
The router is an Asus, also a model AC1200. The settings show auto for the channel selection. I'll try specifying and see if that helps.
I tend to use the 5g extension when I'm in my living room (short line of sight to the extender) and teh 2g when I'm out on my patio.
Thanks again. I'll report back on the channels after enough time to see if it makes a difference.

Did a scan and attached the resulting table. I'm the Chuckles ones (2, 5, guest, 2ext, 5ext). My "2" networks seem to be the only ones on channel 11 and the "5" networks are the only ones on channel 36.
- TomNMAug 13, 2019AspirantI’m beginning to wonder if the problem is with my router. I’m going to use a couple of long cables to relocate it temporarily where I can use it directly in the living room. I’ll disable the extender and see whether I experience any issues just using the router. That will at least eliminate one possible issue.

I'm looping back on this previous discussion. Problems continue. I got some long network cables and moved my wireless router into the same room as the extender. As per the earlier message, I wanted to make sure the router wasn't the issue and see how well the extender worked when in close proximity to the router.
Results are that the wireless router is solid and the extender continues to be unreliable. The 2GExt and 5GExt lose Internet connectivity despite the lights on the device indicating all is well and my laptop or phone wifi connections to the extender remaining strong.
I'm ready to give up on this extender. I hate to walk away from money spent, but the time and hassle to try to make this work just isn't worth it. As I noted in my original posting, I found some online reviews for this extender that noted frequent drops. This was not true for the other Netgear extenders that were reviewed. If a Netgear person is reading this, I'd love to be able to trade this in for / upgrade t one of the other models. Barring that, I'll bite the bullet and buy a highly rated one from another company. I'd love to hear suggestions from people here about other extenders with which they have had good experiences.
Thanks for all the responses with suggestions and things for me to try / problems to eliminate.
