Your not alone:
Keep v66 loaded for now. NG seems to be aware of the problem.

This week, I got a message claiming that there were two new packages. One for my Nighthawk R7800 router (I already had the touted firmware loaded) that was not really "newer;" and one for the Ex7000. It was the same old .78 version that failed before and for some unknown reason I thought it might work with my newer Nighthawk router even though it failed with my old Linksys. It did not; it was a connectivity disaster and nothing I tried/did made it any better!!
3 frustrating hours later, I had dropped back to .66 firmware, reset SSIDs and passphrases and everything worked again on 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. I should not have wasted time with it in the first place, but highly disappointed in Netgear pushing a firmware update that does not go seamlessly into my equipment. I'll stay with .66 version unless they can assure me that a newer version is OK.
