EX7000 Nighthawk WiFi Range Extender doesn't play well with AT&T U-Verse
Hi,
I recently purchased the Nighthawk WiFi Range Extender to boost the WiFi in my house. I have AT&T U-Verse and the wireless network provided by their residential gateway (ARRIS NVG589), but it's installed in the basement, and WiFi on my second floor is choppy at best.
I've taken every device off of the U-Verse wireless network. I shut off all of the U-Verse STBs except for the main STB connected to my main TV. I set up the Nighthawk as a Range Extender on my second floor. I connect no devices to the range extender, so my connected devices are ONLY the main STB and the range extender. If I try to watch live TV, it freezes for several seconds every 5-10 minutes or so.
Anyone experience anything similar? Is there a fix? Would I have better luck setting up the Nighthawk as an access point and shutting off the U-Verse wireless network?

Re: EX7000 Nighthawk WiFi Range Extender doesn't play well with AT&T U-Verse
A wired access point will always be superior to a range extender with respect to reliability and speed, so I would go for that if at all possible. You can leave the Wi-Fi enabled on the NVG589 in case you need it in the basement. Just make sure to use a different Wi-Fi channel.
Otherwise, try moving the EX7000 closer to the NVG589.
