EX7000

Hi have the C7100V Router-Modem along with the EX 7000 WI-FI extender in my home.

The extender is located on the first floor of my home, and the Router is in an home office on the second.

I purchased the extender to enable my WI-FI home generator (located outside) to have access to my WI-FI since the router wasnt cutting it.

It seems my other devices which hook up to the wi-fi get disconnected regularly...especially when moving between floors like my phone and ipad.

I really only need the generator to hook up to the WI-FI through the extender and not the other devices by default.

Can i do this???   The extender and router have the same network name
