How to avoid double NAT on Nighthawk X10 R9000(upstream) and Orbi Rbk50(downstream)

Hello, I am using Nighthawk X10 R9000 as my primary router (gateway 192.168.0.1), and I just bought Orbi Rbk50 with 2 satellites.

Upon setup I find I am unable to set Rbk50 to 192.168.1.x, as it automatically jumps to 10.0.0.1

I wonder if there will be any issues arising regarding double NAT?

I also cannot find the WAN IP on the Rbk50 and thus am unable to setup DMZ.

Could someone please kindly advise me how to best setup the two routers to avoid conflict?

I've attached my network diagram for reference. Thanks so much!

You will want the orbi in AP mode or you'll continue to have the double-nat/different ip subnets.

I setup mine up very similar as you did.

When you put the orbi in AP mode, it should switch the WAN Port into a functional LAN port and it should setup fine.

Give that a shot and see how it works. Occassionally i get issues showing on my attached devices list but it seems like the firmware is constantly changing on. Sometimes it displays correct, other verisons, not.

Theres more details and info at this post.

Thank you plemans for your reply.

Am I able to use the satellites in the same wifi in AP mode?

Is it also possible to connect the satellites using LAN cables to enhance the wifi connection?

I also have a Netgear EX7700 AC2200 Extender that I hope to combine into the Orbi wifi mesh, is that possible?

      Thank you very much!

Is it also possible to connect the satellites using LAN cables to enhance the wifi connection?-----yes, a wired backhaul is ideal.

I also have a Netgear EX7700 AC2200 Extender that I hope to combine into the Orbi wifi mesh, is that possible?------Yes but its not going to be quite as seemless as just the running orbi's in my experience.

        Thank you very much!
