Increasing wifi coverage using Powerline AV500

I have a Powerline 500 Access point (XWN5001) and an adapter (XAV5201).  They work well, but I need more coverage due to the layout of the house.  Can I purchase an additional XAV5201 adapter and link it to the access point, so there are 2 adapters communicating with the access point, or do I need to buy a kit containing a new access point and adapter and connect them both?  I can't find an adapter for sale without the access point at any of the resellers.

    Hello sma303

Yes you can do it either way by using 2 sets or 1 base and 2 extenders here is a FAQ on that. As for buying just the one part you can not unless you buy it used from someone or if you find a retailer that pieces them out.
