Is the EX7300 compatible with Verizon SON?
I just updated my EX7300 to the latest firmware, 1.0.2.158, and everything seems to be working fine. I have a FiOS G1100 quantum gateway. Last year they pushed out an update to create a self-organizing network (SON) which I have not enabled yet (I'm very cautious!)
Will the EX7300 work with the SON? I know I have to change the network access to a single router ID, the one for 2.4GHz. Supposedly this ID will "allow devices to seamlessly move between 2.4 and 5 GHz wi-fi signals." Is the Nighthawk capable of doing that?

Re: Is the EX7300 compatible with Verizon SON?
I've seen issues with people using their "SON" setup and having to leave it disabled for 3rd party extenders.
If you're setup is working fine, I'd leave it.
The EX7300 is a mesh device so it should run using the same ssid as the primary router from the start. You shouldn't need "SON" to achieve this.
