Can someone tell me if the nighthawk AC 1900 Wi-Fi cable modem router model number C7000 can be used as a Wi-Fi extender? I have Comcast Xfinity as my Internet and Wi-Fi provider. I have an Xfinity modem router already set up and with multiple TVs in multiple rooms. Some of the rooms on the far end of the house have low or weak Wi-Fi signal. I received this as a gift and wonder if I can use as a Wi-Fi extender or if I actually need to exchange for true Wi-Fi extenders. I have Comcast Xfinity as my Internet and Wi-Fi provider. The C7000 doesn't have built in function for extender/repeater mode.
Potentially you could gimmick something up but it'd be a pain. You'd be better off to exchange it for a device designed as a repeater/extender. You'll get better performance, better stability, and end up appreciating the device and not regretting it everytime you change a network setting.
