N00b question: WNDR4500 + what to extend network?

Apologies for what is surely a bit of a rookie question, but I know just enough to be dangerous. Hoping someone can help me turn that into success.

I have a Netgear Wireless Router WNDR4500 on one side of the house, and am running a cable to the opposite end of the home. Once I get there, I need to put another device up that is capable of supporting wireless devices, and potentially a networked television (the TV has WiFi, so this is not a must-have).

My preference is that I don't have two network log-ins that I have to teach all my wireless devices, but rather, the antennas in two locations simply support each other. In other words, grab the iPad, teach it the network credentials once, and it works no matter where I am on the property as long as one of the two devices' signal is in range. It would also be nice if the network printer connected to my 8 port switch is available if the laptop is connected via to the new wireless broadcast point (it prints over wireless today).

I am not married to this hardware; if I need to exchange the WNDR4500 for something else, I'll do it if it means I can achieve the "single network" requirement.

I know it can be done (at my office, they have over a dozen broadcast locations, but I only have one set of credentials to access the network). I've tried asking at retailers, but apparently not the right ones (eyes glaze over and the "tech" quickly mumbles something about it not being possible and having to call his mother before scurrying back behind his desk so he can do something within his skill set like install Norton or something).

Thanks a ton for reading... and hopefully responding. :D
