NETGEAR WN2000rpt Trouble!
Hello,
I am new to this thread and I just recently bought a NETGEAR WN2000rpt Universal WiFi Wireless Range Extender for my Verizon Fios Actiontec router/modem. THE set-up for the wn2000rpt WAS THE BEST, as it was super simple and convenient. I was able to successfully set up the extender and connect to the internet with it after troubleshooting. But, as of now, the "wifi bars", so to speak (a.k.a the top light on the front of the extender), turn red every now and then. This results in the loss of connection to the internet from the extender and I am left to reboot the router, which then enables it to work again. I am only 14, but after years of troubleshooting with the internet, xbox 360 NAT stuff, and re-installing routers/modems, I have come to learn quite a bit about networking, but I am unable to resolve this issue.
In my home, we are a family of five and have A LOT of wireless devices such as printers, iphones, computers, laptops, Xbox 360's, etc. I am worried that every now and then, after a certain number of devices are turned on, the mac addresses and ip addresses get mingled so that the extender loses connection. I THINK this is the problem, but I have no idea how to change the extenders ip address. SO IF YOU KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PLEASE HELP:)
Thanks in advance (and sorry for the unnecessarily long paragraphs, just wanted you all to have enough info.)
