Netgear Mesh AX1600 EAX12 loses wifi connection

Hi, I have a problem with this repeater, Happens a few times that it loses the wifi connection and then after 10-20 seconds it reactivates. Is there any way to solve this annoying problem?

    1. what router is it connected to?

    2. what firmware is on the extender?

    3. how big is your home and what are the interior walls made of? (certain materials block wifi)

    4. did you set it up using wps or using the installation assistant process?

Hi, my main router is a ZTE H2640, I installed the latest firmware on the extender, my house is about 140 square meters, but in any case the problem is that it also disconnects from devices that are within a couple of meters , in practice the green light of the "wifi" turns off and after 10-20 seconds it turns on again, between the main router and the extender there is only one concrete wall that has never given me problems even with an old repeater that i had no easymesh technology and another brand. I configured the extender via WPS because unfortunately the app didn't work and I had to do it this way

        a couple things.

        1. concrete blocks wifi really well. Literally one of the best materials for blocking wifi. Maybe the old one worked better because power levels didn't change for AX on broadcasting. and its trying to connect at higher speeds.

        2. wps between manufacturer's sucks. Its not supposed to. but you see many that code it different and it causes issues.

Try factory resetting the extender and trying the installation assistant again.

  • Almost sounds like the device is rebooting.  Or switching channels or something.

I'd second the suggestion to factory reset and start over.  I've had to setup my device a number of times to finally get it to work.  And attaching the app after manually setting it up doesn't seem to work (or didn't for me).  Had to do the new device wizard in the app.

I'm experiencing this as well with EAX12, EAX15, and RAX35 router.  Sometimes the RAX35 no longer broadcasts its SSIDs, as if it has ceded control to the extenders.  All are at current firmware versions.

I got a TPLink RE705X and one thing I noticed when connecting to the RAX35 is that it didn't offer to repeat with the same SSID as the router, which is the default setting for the EAX12 & EAX15.  Have gone days with the TPLink RE705X and the WiFi has not dropped or reduced speed.
