Hi there. I am using using netgear router at home, the nighthawk R8000. I've just purchased the AC2200 extender to increase coverage at home. However I don't want the extender to have EXT at the end because i would have to keep swithing wifis. I have tried manually to name it exactly to same the current SSID from the main router. Is this the right way and is it good? It works sometimes but sometimes it fails to get IP and wifi drops and the light is red on the extender. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Swadeep

Hello swadeepc
You want it to have a separate SSID because it is not designed to auto switch networks when moving around your home.
