Router power output?
My range extender is approximately 45 feet from my router. The router is on top of a cabinet 6.5 feet tall. I have a red device link intermittently much too often. Does the signal strength of a router vary from one type to another? I'm puzzled as to why a solid connection keeps going on and off.

Not much to go off here.
1. what router are you using?
2. what extender are you using?
3. firmware on both?
4. What else is in the way? aka what materials are you walls made of? certain materials block wifi better than others. As well as materials int he walls (think hvac) can block wifi
5. Is this apartment, condo, single family home? etc. apartments/condos/home close together are going to have more wifi interference than single family homes or rural living.
