SMC Xfinity Router/Modem Combo not compatible

I wanted to get the word out incase anyone had an SMC Xfinity Router/Modem combo. I spent HOURS trying to set up my Netgear WN2000RPT wifi extender. After two long days and an addition hour with Netgear tech support, we both decided to give up. Until I read that Xfinity's SMC router/modem combos aren't compatible with much of anything. So I hooked up my Linksys, used it as my default router... then made one last attempt at the Netgear... and I was up and running in just a couple of minutes, easy as pie. I was ready to return my product until I used a different router. Hope this helps.
