WG602 over belkin powerline
Hi all,
Having an issue getting my WG602v4 working as an AP on my home network. My configuration is pretty basic but does include a pair of Belkin F5D4074v2 Powerline AV adaptors and a FS605 100mbit 5 port switch. My internet connection is via an N600 ADSL modem router. Here's the setup:
N600 --- Powerline1 ::: Powerline2 --- FS605 --- WG602
My address range is 192.168.200.x with the N600 on 192.168.200.254 and the WG602 on 192.168.200.253 with its DHCP feature turned off (so basically manually allocated IP).
Other devices connected to the FS605 work perfectly, I have a Sky box and a PC plugged in and they get a DHCP address and internet access. If I plug my laptop into the switch using the same cable I'm using to connect the WG602 then the laptop also works perfectly.
However, if I connect the WG602 either into the switch or directly into the Powerline2 then no-go. Cannot get to the admin page over Ethernet (ignoring wifi for the moment).
If I take the cable running from the N600 to Powerline 1 and plug it into the WG602 it works perfectly, so I know its config is set up correctly. Ie: I can connect with my laptop to the WG602 wirelessly and its allocated a DHCP address and it gets internet access. I can also see the WG602 admin page from my main PC attached to the N600.
So it looks like there's some issue with using the WG602 at the far end of the Belkin PowerlineAV (whether with or without the switch), but if so how do all the other ethernet devices and the switch work properly? :confused:
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
M

- jmizoguchiVirtuosotry with static IP on wifi pc side and see
- zarkhovAspirantThanks for the suggestion - no joy with static IP on wireless client. Had already tried that. Figure I need a solution where as at the very least the admin page for the WG602 can be accessed over ethernet...
- jmizoguchiVirtuosoI think using power line with AP issues exist in using netgear power line as well so must have some similar issues to use power line.
