WN3000RP doesn't connect/Status light is yellow

I am installing a refurbished extender, and instructions say to proceed when status light is green. It has been yellow for a week. WPS does not work. My Wireless Network Manager does not recognize the extender.
Is there something I can do besides return it???

I would say try a factory reset and ensure it has the latest firmware on it.
