WNDR3400 with WNDR3700 Issues

Hello,

I have a larger network setup in my home and seem to be running into a problem only wiht my 3400, which is being used as an access point.

The main router is the 3700, and I have various other access points throughout the home, that work wel. The 3400 is connected (upstairs) via a hardwire into a walljack that runs downstairs (2 floors) to a patch panel which is connected to a switch. In general everything works ok. The issue with the 3400 is the following:

1. When looking at the status and attached devices, it seems as if the 3400 is acting as the main router, not the 3700. This is confusing since it is not setup to do so, no dhcp and it's IP address is 192.168.2.100 (outside the range of dchcp). Every device in the house shows up here, yet the main router (3700) shows nothing attached. Makes no sense. Why would this be?

2. When looking via a wlan scanner this 3400 doesn't even show up. I am able to trace every access point by MAC address yet this one is no where to found. Sometimes it fades in an out, but that is rare

I have followed all the setups that I can find on this board and everything appears to be setup properly, but I know it cant' be. All the SSID's are named the same (Home2), the channels have been all the same and spread out, makes no difference.

Any ideas? I realize I left a lot of the configuration out but was just trying to be susinct.

Thanks

  • difference in netbios resolving.. it would be less to with how you setup.

3700 seems is not resolving it.
