If I want to increase the capacity (and not the range) of clients that can access my wireless network, does bridging do that? It seems like the bridge mode still puts load on the parent AP and wouldn't serve my purpose. Would having 2 (on each sides of the room) on diff channels, NOT configured as bridge (but with the same SSID and security settings) accomplish this?

Thanks

  • install AP with ethernet to additional location and use different SSID

Sorry, I should have mentioned this... The goal is to keep it seamless to users.. Kind of like a load balancing thing? Maybe that's not possible? (Same SSID)

    Thx
  • It will not load balance liked that with same wifi
Some wifi device will pick whatever it likes so using same SSID may work but depending on how wifi user are used

    Google roaming aggressiveness

You will find how wifi device can hop to different AP point
