mywifiext.net not working or offering a way to change password/username
When i set up my extender it was supposed to be secure, but i notice it is open to the public. I need to change this but When i try to goto the mywifiextender.net site it does not accept my username or password anymore. How do i reset the password as there is no option for it. Seems lke a very poor design. Then you have to jump through so many damn hoops to try and get an answer...furthest thing from "customer support"

You didn't specify the model of your extender, but all models have a reset button to return the unit to factory settings. Push it for at least 7 seconds. Then try http://www.mywifiext.net again.

Re: mywifiext.net not working or offering a way to change password/username
I don't see how the smartphone is any different. If you forget the code to unlock your phone, how do you recover it without resetting the phone?
The password is stored on the 2700 and nowhere else, so you couldn't ask Netgear to email it to you. I wouldn't want Netgear to know my password nor would I want them to email it because email is not secure.
So, what option would you prefer to recover from a forgotten password? Do you know if another brand of networking gear provides it?
A reset button is a tried and true recovery method because you have to be physically present to push it. It's inconvenient to lose the settings, but that a small price to pay for forgetting the password.
