Thank you TwitchCon 2019!
TwitchCon 2019 is a wrap! We couldn’t be any happier with this year’s TwitchCon, especially after meeting you – each and every attendee who came up to us – and having the support of our awesome partners at NRG, Gen.G, and Seagate. TwitchCon, held in San Diego, is North America’s biggest convention that brings URL to IRL – where streamers, gamers, fans, and lurkers alike come together once a year for meet-and-greets, esports tournaments, exclusive merch, and much, much more.
At the end of the day, our favorite part of TwitchCon was talking to you – our dedicated fans and the folks curious about Nighthawk Pro Gaming: who we are and what we do. We met with many streamers, gamers – casual and competitive – and returning fans alike who had all these questions on how Nighthawk Pro Gaming can improve your streaming and gaming experience.
For TwitchCon 2019, we just launched a deal for only $150 for the Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR450 WiFi Gaming Router. A whopping 40% off retail price, the deal was a huge hit. Packed with purpose-built hardware for online gaming, with speeds up 2.4Gbps and a dual-core 1.7Ghz processor, and with 4 LAN gigabit Ethernet ports for all your wired needs – the XR450 has everything you need for faster speeds, lower ping, and more wins.
The secret to the XR450 is the Pro Gaming Dashboard, powered by DumaOS. Fully customizable with Geo-Filter, Networking Monitoring, Device Management, and Quality of Service – the software has everything you need to prioritize your gaming devices, guarantee a connection to local servers and players, and understand exactly what is going on in your home network. Your roommate starts streaming Netflix in 4K? Don’t let that affect your Twitch stream quality or latency – especially if that’s your source of income. With the Gaming Dashboard, you can see exactly what is hogging up the bandwidth and make sure that your gaming and streaming devices come first in priority.
At this year’s TwitchCon, we had a ton of fun each day with some special activations for the lucky attendees. Outfitted with decked-out PC towers provided by NZXT and Origin PC, and a streaming setup featuring a 49” gaming monitor and of course – the XR450 gaming router – streamers of any level were able to come and play for their communities, virtually and IRL at the booth.
NETGEAR worked with NRG Esports for a special meet-and-greet with the NRG Apex Legends team, with superstars “dizzy,” “mohr,” and “ace”. Fans were able to hang with the team for as long as they wanted for photo ops, autographs, and to cheer them on for their Twitch Rivals Apex Legends tournament going on the next day (which they won -- $60K prize pool)!
On Sunday, we had a special appearance with Tina and Maddie from the Gen.G Fortnite team – where Tina also won the Twitch Rivals tournament for Fortnite! With a $116K prize pool under her name, a gold medal around her neck, and a shiny purple Twitch trophy sitting in the booth, fans were extremely excited to meet the talented girls as they streamed and handed out exclusive Gen.G x Nighthawk Pro Gaming hoodies. Maddie streamed her insane Fortnite skills at the stream station while Tina hung out with the fans and handed out hoodies to anyone willing to show off their favorite Fortnite emote!
We’d like to thank Seagate for providing the awesome booth, full of the best hardware that any streamer or gamer needs. Thank you to NRG and Gen.G for letting us hang with the most talented players we know. We hope to see you next year at TwitchCon 2020!
