Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

When QOS is enabled, the game shows a bad connection or no Internet access to play the game, and the message appears repeatedly so that I get stuck on the title screen.
However, I can use other apps to browse the web and search for information, etc. The connection is fine.

When you're playing the games does Traffic Prioritization show it is prioritizing at all?

That might be why, if you add the phones with the Games Console service it should prioritize the games and give a better experience.

This did not help.
Even after setting all ports to prioritize then can see the traffic prioritizing I still can't log into the game.(Pokemon Masters EX, Mario Kart Tour).

I need to disable QOS to log into the game.

@Rockemail wouldn't suggest using all ports. Are you using the Geo-Filter at all?

No. I'm not using Geo-Filter. Keep it disabled.

Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

Use Traffic Controller to make a rule for the phone to allow ALL traffic and see if it works with QoS enabled then.

Still have the issue with QOS enabled.

@Rockemail what are your internet speeds and what are the usual QoS settings you use when enabled?

Hi, I did a factory reset after installing dumaos 3.0. The second point I don’t know what you mean. Can you give me more detail?

Where are you checking your speeds? Are you looking in Connection Benchmark in DumaOS?

I’m checking them in the connection benchmark and comparing with Speedtest.

Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

The last few times I have been playing on xbox I have been getting packet loss and huge ping variations. I am fully wired, direct to the XR500 with dumaos classified games enabled and the console added to the geofilter but with it in spectate mode.

Last night the game became unplayable (Fifa 21) with ping variations and packet loss. When I checked the duma dashboard it showed a device (sky Q) downloading at full bandwidth despite being set to 60% in QoS. When watching the dashboard I could see that the dumaos classified games kept enabling and disabling. For the time it was enabled it was not long enough to have any effect on the downloads so this is probably why my gaming experience was horrible and has been since moving to this build. I still believe this is linked to the device manager problem where devices jump on and offline intermitently. I have already tried a reboot of the router and it didnt help. Please fix the device manager for the next build everything that is unique and good about this router depends on it. In the meantime I will be downgrading again.

Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

@Dioler Connection Benchmark speeds still need to be improved upon so if you're getting them via speedtest.net then that's good.

@quadrophenic The Sky Q was able to download more as share excess will have been enabled. Were you using Congestion Control as even at that amount CC should have prevented the lag. Disable DumaOS Classified Games and try adding with the Games Console service instead and see if it prioritizes more consistently - what is your game console?

Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

Apologies I wasnt clear, congestion control was set to 60% not bandwidth allocation. So nothing (that isnt in prioritisation) should have been able to consume more than 60%. Console is xbox one X. I will try the games console service as you suggest.

Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

@quadrophenic was CC set to Always or Auto-Enable? Are you using IPv6, VLAN etc?

Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

It was set to auto enable. I have tried always to see if that helps but last night was bad again. No IPv6, no VLAN. PPPoE connection via openreach modem.

I am starting to think it might be the game (Fifa21) so I will test tonight with some different games. I watched it the whole time I was playing last night and the prioritisation never went off when the packet loss and ping spikes were happening.

After some testing, I found that whenever IPV6 is enabled, it has a chance to cause this problem, and when IPV6+QoS is enabled at the same time, this problem will definitely appear.

My IPV6 settings

Okay thank you, we are aware of IPv6/QoS issues when both are used so we're looking into those. Thanks for the information.

Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

Can we install beta 3.0 on XR500 from XR700 topic or do we still have to wait for a proper one for our router model?

Re: New Firmware v2.3.2.108 (XR500)

You have to use the appropriate firmware for your router. You can find the XR700 beta here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-DumaOS-3-0/XR700-DumaOS-3-0-Beta-Firmware/td-p...
