New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.130 Released

I also had to downgrade to .114 as my internet was cutting out randomly, and started happening multiple times per day. 

Factory reset it with each upgrade until the latest, I've also had buffering issues with .130. 

The internet light on the router itself would turn off when I'd lose connection, and then come back maybe 30 seconds later, maybe longer.

I have a CM1000 and apparently that's an issue as well with their modem. I don't know which is causing the issue for sure, but, since downgrading back to .114 it has solved the disconnection issues. All I know is spending almost $300 on a router to have this performance, including not being able to use IPV6 with QoS in 2022, after years of waiting for better firmware is totally unacceptable.

It's not your modem, it is the DHCP issue still not resolved by Netgear. I'm having this issue, again...

Set your router with modem as a PPPOE connection and you haven’t any problem.
3 weeks now I have no any problem or disconnect my internet. My speed test when playing is amazing than the older firmware.
For me the new firmware working amazing 🤩

Isn't PPPOE a specific type of ISP connection?

I just run FTTN, and coax into my apartment.

Orosta, yes is a specific from your provider but when connected with PPPOE the internet take only from your Game router (XR500) . With DHCP have internet modem and router and know all internet providers use some filters, as a results you don’t have better speed or have some times issues like disconnect. When buy the XR and looking for best settings and have the best speed lot of technical said me the best way to connect with modem is a PPPOE connection. Really with new firmware and features except from begging I have the same issues like u, when fix it…. everything is amazing . The QoS service is better now with applications and I think work better , and all other’s information takes from router…. Just perfect …. Always for me

When the update came out i made a post regarding the internet speeds, apparently it was a Windows 11 problem.

My speeds are good now and I now have 1000/1000 Mbps.

@Orosta yes most likely, we're pushing NG for a fix for the next version.

I really dislike that you guys are basically withheld entirely by Netgear in terms of making progress. Netgear used to be a brand I trusted, however, will now never buy again. I know that routing updates are done very carefully, but,  to still not have functioning QoS with IPv6 & a final release having a bug that bad they're obviously unable to create long-lasting trust. I do hope you guys are able to produce a viable firmware with them, and possibly either convince them to care about the products you're tied in with or find new partners to venture on with in the future.

@Orosta they have let go of this router for a long time, netgar has it for us users, they called the beta alpha version (official) to give them peace, two months from the last release of the next beta version because the official Swiss cheese is certainly not and will not,

Router mfrs don't annouce when new FW is forth coming or when it's being released.

When do you plan to have this fixed?

I had to downgrade my firmware to V2.3.2.114 to get my internet working properly but when I log into the router, the device manager and QOS module is not loaded.

It is a bug NG needs to fix, there are no ETAs on this but I would expect it to be resolve in the next version.

Reboot the router from the interface, wait 2 minutes then access and they should load correctly.

I have recently upgraded my line to 900mbps but connection benchmark only ever reports max download speed as 450. Testing from a wired PC on the network I am getting the 900mbps. Any ideas?

We're still improving the results on Benchmark but if you're getting expected speeds through other tests that is what you'll actually be getting

If you're doing a speed test through your phone on a third party speed test app you're going to get the minimum of 400 to 500 Mbps because that's what's the minimum the phone can handle if you do a speed test on nighthawk app then it's just doing a speed test directly of what router supports or you'll be getting if you do a speed test hardwired through a PC then you'll be getting around 900 Mbps if you have that connection speed

I’m not complaining about the speeds to client devices. It’s the built in router tests that are not showing the correct results. I have always trusted the nighthawk app but that even maxes out around 600mbps.

Always try a wired speed test with a wried PC and ooklas installable speed test app is the best method to check speeds.

I have a problem with my router I have the xr500 and since the last update was done my geo-filter does not work at all it is a license page, all the rest work normally. I did a factory reset I tried everything give a solution because it is like the router is useless !! I have v2.3.2.130 !!

What about Geo-filter isn't working exactly? Since factory resetting, could you also please clear your browser's cache and see if that helps with the problem?

What web browser are you using? Happen in MS Edge or FireFox? 

Might revert back to prior version of FW.
