XR500 QOS sliders not working
Currently on v2.3.2.114. Been running beautifully for several years with no issues. Now I find the sliders have no effect and the buffering is bad at all settings. Previously had consistent A+ or A ratings overall. Two factory resets completed (software and then hardware), set up from scratch again, loaded known good prior settings backup etc., all same same. All other functions appear to be working correctly. Next steps?

Re: XR500 QOS sliders not working
Same here.
Tried most increments of the sliders by 5% and nothing changes. Always showing way higher download ping under load that it once was
(was averaging 30-40ms up and down under load, and now its 30-40 up, but like 150-200 down when under load)
Most likely just the netduma OS being weird, but strange that it would just change in the last few weeks

Re: XR500 QOS sliders not working
yes.
I do remember you mentioned something along those lines in another thread. SO after trying through a bunch of increments on the QOS slider, Ive jsut set it back to what it was, and chalk it up to a bug

Re: XR500 QOS sliders not working
Thank you Fraser but there is nothing in my post related to png issues. The QOS sliders are doing little or nothing to limit the up and down speeds and certainly not limiting the buffering at all. The max limits on the sliders were set by the system and are accurate. And, yes, I am testing with 'always' selected.

Re: XR500 QOS sliders not working
Are you testing this with Connection Benchmark or are you using a third-party speedtest to determine this?

Re: XR500 QOS sliders not working

Re: XR500 QOS sliders not working
can you elaborate more on what you did to reslove the issue?
Installed 3? Is there a newer version of firmware?

Re: XR500 QOS sliders not working
@Netduma-Fraser thanks !
I thought I had upgraded to .120 , but something was unstable there, and some of my devices weren't connecting or something. And I had to downgrade to .114
I havent been around the forums all summer, so not sure what version is most stable or what version I should be on right now?
Just to confirm, best practices.
Save my settings and make a backup
reset router to factory state
update firmware
then load back your pre saved settings?

Re: XR500 QOS sliders not working
If possible, I'd suggest:
- Save a backup if you'd like
- Upgrade the firmware
- Factory reset the router
- Check that it's stable and you're not running into any issues
- Restore your settings from the backup.

I think I always miss resetting to facotry settings after firmware upgrades or downgrades.
