Best Modem for Nighthawk XR500 Pro Gaming Router ?Prefer Netgear so they communicate.What combination are people running that’s working well ?Need to use it for PlayStation 4Thanks

Hi manxdude, there is no particular recommended modem as far as I am aware. As long as it can pass traffic through to the router there shouldn't be any problems.

No. The quality of settings you get in a combo are not very exhaustive and their QoS is not very good at all. Your ping does not increase by any conceivable amount by introducing a router &lt;1ms usually.

No you wouldn't gain an advantage because the optimal setup would be to put the combo in modem mode as you want the XR500 to control everything.

I wouldn't have thought it'd make any significant difference whatsoever. The only upside to that scenario is you have 1 device for internet rather than 2.
