Best Modem for Nighthawk XR500 Pro Gaming Router ?
Prefer Netgear so they communicate.
What combination are people running that’s working well ?
Need to use it for PlayStation 4

Hi manxdude, there is no particular recommended modem as far as I am aware. As long as it can pass traffic through to the router there shouldn't be any problems.

No. The quality of settings you get in a combo are not very exhaustive and their QoS is not very good at all. Your ping does not increase by any conceivable amount by introducing a router <1ms usually.

No you wouldn't gain an advantage because the optimal setup would be to put the combo in modem mode as you want the XR500 to control everything.

I wouldn't have thought it'd make any significant difference whatsoever. The only upside to that scenario is you have 1 device for internet rather than 2.
