Brand new XR1000 refuses to connect to HFC NBN (Aussie Broadband)
Hi all, I have an old R7000 that has been working great, but it was getting a little tired so I decided to upgrade to the XR1000. I have HFC NBN supplied by ABB which DOES NOT need a username/passwor...
I think I may have got it working.
I found a post on another forum regarding the MAC address of the router under the 'Internet Setup' tab, I spoofed the MAC from the old R7000 and it connected straight away!
Didn't realise this could cause a problem. I could've probably left the NBN modem off for an extended period of time to clear the MAC too, but this is working, so I'll leave it for now.
Yeah, I'm not sure. We were going out later, so I did a test, changed the MAC setting back to 'Use Default Address', then unplugged both XR1000 and the NBN modem. When I came home after a few hours, switched both on and it connected and everything is working fine.
