Does this router support 2 gigabit speeds via ethernet? I see an option for 10G LAN SFP+ Port (10 Gbps) but I'm not sure what this is. I tried it and my internet turned off. I just had 2 gigabit internet installed. Do I need a new router? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The satellites, i.e. RBS are the remote MESH devices that are placed out in remote locations from the router, i.e. RBR.
The RBS connect to the RBR wirelessly or via ethernet: https://kb.netgear.com/000051205/What-is-Ethernet-backhaul-and-how-do-I-set-it-up-on-my-Orbi-WiFi-Sy... 📡

Yes, if you use a 10Gb SFP to ethernet converter on the SFP port. However you'll not see 2Gb speeds on the LAN ports since they are 1Gb max only. Possible you could see 2Gb speeds over wifi if you have some 4x4 MIMO supporting devices.

I feel super stupid. I literally just seen the little slot for it. I googled the adapter which made me go look for it. You recommend one?

CAT6A STP is recommended here.

Re: Does the Nighthawk XR700 Router support 2 gigabit internet speeds?
No.
Only the RAXE500, RAX200, RAX120 and Orbi RBK850 series and RBKE960 series have multi gig WAN ports. The RBKE960 series have a 10Gb WAN port and 1x 2.5Gb LAN port.
The announced RS700 has both 10GB WAN and LAN ports.

Re: Does the Nighthawk XR700 Router support 2 gigabit internet speeds?
thanks. so what I could do with the Orbi 960 is get a 2 gigabit 8 port switch and connect it to the 2.5 gig ethernet port. Would this give me 8 2.5 gig ethernet ports? If not, is there a way to go about doing that?

Re: Does the Nighthawk XR700 Router support 2 gigabit internet speeds?
Yes. I have the XS-505M and GS110MX switches used with my 960. There are other multi gig supporting switches out there.

Re: Does the Nighthawk XR700 Router support 2 gigabit internet speeds?
That is what I will probably end up doing.
One more question. I noticed the 960 comes with 2 devices. One of them has the yellow WAN port and the other does not. How does the other module get internet to it? I'm assuming this is the mesh router part. I've never used a mesh router. Does the main router connect to it and feed it internet that way?
I wanted to put the main router in my basement and have the other one in my bedroom and have 8 port switches connected to both of them. Is this possible?

Re: Does the Nighthawk XR700 Router support 2 gigabit internet speeds?
thank you. You answered all of my questions. I don't want the mesh satellite. I'll buy another Orbi and turn it into an AP like I do my other nighthawk routers, for other places in my home. I have cat6 running through my entire house.

Re: Does the Nighthawk XR700 Router support 2 gigabit internet speeds?
For the 8 port switch I purchased, does it matter which ports I use? Or are they all capable of 2gig? Sorry for bugging.
