Dos attacks causing internet loss
hi there. So for the past month I keep getting dos attacks in my logs and it is causing service disruptions where the internet will just drop and then will reload once the dos attacks have stopped. We have tried everything to get a new IP address, but accoring to Spectrum Charter our IP is dynmaic so they can't automatically change it. We unplugged the modem for 48 hours, still same IP, and cancled our internet services, set up new services and still have the same IP. The only same facvtor is the Nighthawk router. Is anyone else experiencing or experienced this? Any advice on what we can do. Thanks.

Re: Dos attacks causing internet loss
Hi Wolf- the Dos attacks are likely a false reading. If you google the log entry you will see many posts on this forum and elsewhere confirming you can ignore them. It's mostly just Internet white noise.
Which means your issue is likely to be elsewhere. Do you lose Internet across your entire home, or just on your router? If your entire home, have you contacted your ISP to see if they can test for line issues?
