External HDD not showing up when plugged into USB ports on router
I want to use a network HDD to store files for both systems I use. I'm using a WD easystore 2TB HDD with USB 3.0 connection cable. Plugged the HDD into both computers and it shows up on those. Plugged it into the XR500 and the lights for the USB 1, USB 2 don't light up. The HDD light doesn't come on or spin up. It doesn't show up on the device manager app on the router.
I checked the user manual for the XR500 and it simply says to plug in the HDD and wait up to 2 minutes.
I also tried the link that shows you the USB compatability list for devices but the XR500 isn't listed.
I've also reformatted the HDD and set it to NTFS(it was already on that setting) just to be safe.
I've rebooted the router with the device plugged in.
I've rebooted the router with the device NOT plugged in.
I've tried connecting a WD MyPassport drive to the USB ports and it doesn't connect either.
Is there something else I should do?
Firmware router version is V2.3.2.18
