Horrible policy
Not sure if you this goes here but seeing as it relates to my experience with NETGEAR and this router I’m posting it here.
Bought this brand new from BestBuy just barely a month ago. I’ve had issues with this router from day one. Had support run me through multiple troubleshooting options, eventually to a point where it’s determined that I bought a defective/faulty unit. They’re going to replace it no problem, great. Happy to hear it.
What pisses me off though, is that after spending $300 plus tax for a router that turned out to be defective, I have to pay additional for shipping for the replacement.
Excuse me what?!? This policy is HORRENDOUS. Nothing but compliments for all of the support specialists I worked with. I know they don’t make the decisions. But to charge a customer to replace a faulty unit within warranty (like I said, unit is barely a month old) is inexcusable.

Re: Horrible policy
Thats normal router mfr policy. Most tech companies do this. Industry wide. Been like this for years. Can see if BB will refund it.

Re: Horrible policy
Absolutely agree !!! I'm on the same boat except it's been 3 months of problems with that crap XR500 and that **bleep**ty duma os ...after helping netduma for over 3 years now with them R1 wich was way better than xr500 and still is more stable and goodly performing !!! I am also the one who fought agaisnt them(netduma's team and dumb people in the community thinkin they understand things) to gave them the proper names and explanations for them own tools like bandwith allocation and devices prioritization.... ect !!! They don't listen to people and do nothing to really help or even to simply respecting the warranties !!! Sadly Netgear act like them...but stay positive there is a way so you don't have to pay them more !!!
