IPv6 Manual DNS boxes

So I am manually trying to put the ipv6 cloudflare numbers into my router. The cloudflare dns numers are a series of 4, 4 digit numbers (2606:4700:4700::1111). But in my settings there are 8 boxes for each ipv6 dns numbers (_:_:_:_:_:_:_:_) with no double colon, I attached a screenshot of how it looks below. I currently put the numbers in the first 4 for primary and secondary. Once I hit apply the rest of the boxes filled with 0s. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong. I'm somewhat new to this so forgive my ignorance. Thanks for any help.Screen Shot 2018-07-14 at 9.57.10 AM.png

Check to see if your DNS has applied: https://ipleak.net/

If not maybe worth calling Netgear support

Re: IPv6 Manual DNS boxes

I just saw on another post that I am supposed use four zero's as replacement for the double colon

2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1111

anyone know if this is thright way to do this or not?

Re: IPv6 Manual DNS boxes

The double colon means to put the last number at the end.  Should look like this:

Re: IPv6 Manual DNS boxes

How would I type 2602:fcbc::ad in for primary and 2602:fcbc:2::ad in for secondary. And if there is no tertiary what do we do then? Trying to set up alternate DNS to filter ads out of my network at router level.

Re: IPv6 Manual DNS boxes

I assume It would be like this based on the previous example
2602:fcbc:0:0:0:0:0:ad
2602:fcbc:2:0:0:0:0:ad
