KNOWN ISSUE: Login problems using latest Chrome version

On the latest version of Chrome (77.0.3865.75) we have identified an issue where users may have trouble logging into their Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming router. This affects the XR300, XR450, XR500 and XR700.

Instead of asking for a username and password as normal, the router will instead direct you straight to the Password Recovery page.

We are aware of this issue and all relevant parties have been notified, there will be a fix as soon as possible.

For the time being, we recommend that you manage your router using a different browser. We have confirmed that the issue does not affect Firefox or Edge.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Re: KNOWN ISSUE: Login problems using latest Chrome version

A workaround for this issue has been found:

Paste the following address into your Chrome address bar and press enter: chrome://flags/#http-auth-committed-interstitials

Change the highlighted setting to Disabled and press Relaunch Now

Now you should be able to log in as normal again

Must be something Chrome have done with their update, I'm sure a lot of companies will have deploy fixes on their side.

Be aware of what Mozilla and Google are going to be doing to there browsers:

Not sure if this will be effecting local router log in pages or not.

Actually I imagine this might affect the routerlogin.net and dumaos/ methods of router access, thanks for the heads up!

For people using Chrome v77, other users have said that doing a reboot of the PC fixes how Chrome works with the log in pages.

Not here, it doesn't.  (Fedora 30 on both Lenovo T530 laptop and Dell desktop).

Linux, not sure how that will play out. Others I believe are Windows users.
