Loss of 5Ghz signal
Hello everyone, I did a search and couldn't find an exact match for my issue.
My XR500 has been amazing for the past 3 months, but all of the sudden this past weekend I've been having problems where the 5Ghz radio just completely drops.
I'm not sure exactly what's happening, but all of my 5Ghz connected devices say they lost connection. The fastest one to tell me are my Alexa devices and my Nest camera, since Alexa says it has a connection problem and I get an email saying my Nest camera is offline.
In any case, I've had to reboot the router, which I've never had to do outside of when I first got it and had to setup all of my devices. What's weird is that the 2.4Ghz connection is absolutely fine. So I decided to log into the router on my 2.4Ghz band and I saw that the 5Ghz radio was on so I'm not sure what's happening exactly. I also don't see my 5Ghz SSID when scanning for networks on my phone or my laptop.
I don't think it's interference or anything like that (but who knows), since I've used a wifi analyzer to manually set the frequencies for both bands. My Nest cam is also just a few feet from my router so it's as if the radio just stops working completely.
I have the latest firmware installed (did a firmware check this morning), both my wifi radios have their own SSID, and rebooting seems to fix the issue. Of course I'd rather not have to keep rebooting my router that was working perfectly for the last few months since original purchase. Are there any settings I should look at specifically? Thanks!

Re: Loss of 5Ghz signal
Hmm... What 5GHz channel are you using? You're not using one of the one's labeled DFS are you? Just an idea.
DFS channels get disabled if a radar is detected nearby.

Re: Loss of 5Ghz signal
I don't recall anything labeled DFS...I used the wifi analyzer in the nighthawk app and it said 153 was the best one to use, so I used that. I turned off MIMO and beam forming to see if it happens again. Not sure if those were the causes or not.

Re: Loss of 5Ghz signal
153 isn't a DFS channel so that theory's out the window.
Let me know what happens now that you've disabled MIMO and Beamforming

Re: Loss of 5Ghz signal
Will do, so far it's been working as expected and notice no negatives from turning off MIMO and beamforming. Thanks for your help, really appreciate it.
