I am attempting to set up Plex Media Server on new XR700 router, but it does not recognize my external hard drive when it is plugged in.
I am using a 2TB Seagate HDD formatted at NTFS with 6 GB free (recommended for 5 GB free)
My laptop recognizes the drive.
The Router itself lights up when the drive is connected, but when going through DumaOS to the Plex settings, no device found.

Does the router identify the HD in ReadyShare at all? If it doesn't then it may not be compatible, if it does then this may be a plex issue. What firmware version are you on?

Re: NetGear XR700 Plex Media Server status “No USB Device Connected”
My firmware version of the router is V1.0.1.20
And i am using a Seagate 2 TB Backup Plus Slim
I believe this is a supported device.

Re: NetGear XR700 Plex Media Server status “No USB Device Connected”
ReadyShare was not recognizing it either. I tried a Sandisk USB and that was recognized.
Then I tried my 8TB Seagate BackUp Plus Hub and that was recognized as well.
That was the issue, somehow the typical Seagate 2TB is not supported?
I guess I will use my 8TB for the Plex Server.
Thanks for the help!

Seems that way, I'm not sure why some are supported and others aren't but glad you're able to use Plex now.
