Netgear R8000
so i have a problem with my blink cameras where the voice volume isn't very loud on them and the tech support said this so im wondering what the newest model of my router has different then my current one.
this is what tech support said
Hi James,
Looking at the results of the test there is some definite data loss going on when testing connection from the phone to the router, and from the phone to google. There are also a lot of high ping spikes where the net is slowing down. The upload speed displayed on the test is calculated by sending data back and forth between the two devices wirelessly so it may be different than if your ISP did a speed test.
This is either something hardware-related with the ISP, or the area itself that the ISP is having some slowdowns.
The router is over 6 years old from when it was originally manufactured, the Netgear R8000. This can be an issue, generally you need a router produced in the last 2-3 years.
All images discussed are attached. Let us know if any questions arise.
Regards,
John

Re: Netgear R8000
I think tech support is looking for a way out to not blame their device.
The R8000 is 6 years old. But it was a top end device when it was released and its still a solid router today.
Are any other devices having issues?
And a volume issue isn't going to be related to the router. The router/data doesn't set the volume level, the device/devices its ran on does. If the data is being transmitted and you have audio, the router is doing its job. its just transmitting data.
