Netgear Smoking from the Wrong Tree? XR450 is a ROUTER. XR450 not available in Community Model List
1. https://kb.netgear.com/000060193/XR450-Firmware-Version-2-3-2-32 says:
"Installation Instructions:
- Download the firmware to a convenient place such as your desktop.
Download Link: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/XR450/XR450-V2.3.2.32.zip
- Log in the extender using http://mywifiext on windows PC, http://mywifiext.local on Mac OSX or iOS or Linux, http://extender’s IP address on Android phones.
- Click Firmware Update.
- Find “Upload Update File” and click “Browse” and locate the file you just downloaded.
- Click Upload. While the firmware is loading, do not interrupt the upgrade process.
- The extender reboots when the upgrade is complete.
- After the extender boots up and the power LED becomes steady green, log in the extender again.
To check that the upgrade was successful, log in to the extender again, follow the item 2 instruction and check the firmware version."
The XR450 is a router, not an extender! How difficult can it be to copy the appropriate text blocks to compose a Release Notes? Netgear has still no QA - can we refer @aborkar here?
2. The community is still not up2date, neither the XR450 (in the field for some months) nor the XR700 (in the market soon) is available in the community Model (Recommended ...) field @ChristineT:
