Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

Thanks Liam - just to confirm the process for this:   "Factory reset the XR500"

Is it:

Settings / Administration / Backup Settings / Revert to factory default settings / Erase

Hi everyone just updated to the newest firmware and as mentioned it is still very buggy and has the DHCP issue. Can everyone recommend from their experience what is the most stable version of previous firmware that is useable please?

Thanks in advance

Did you factory reset the router and setup from scratch? I'm not seeing the DHCP issue on my XR450 and i'm using default DHCP IP address range.

As above, also there is no specific fix for that issue in that version. If you haven't done so already the following can help with the disconnections. In LAN Settings, set the DHCP range to start at .50, then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .49 so they're out of the DHCP range, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects.

Okay try the above regarding reserved IPs and see if that helps

Uptime would have been 2 days, however power company did a 30 minute black out yesterday. 😐

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

I've been running on .134 for 3 days now - performed the upgrade as per the steps set out by Liam.  Just not happy.  General internet performance is poor.  All three of my kids are independently saying their games are lagging.  I need to go back to a version prior to .130.

.120 was working fine for me for months - I will go back to that but before I do is there anything you'd like me to do?

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

You may just need to re-adjust your QoS settings but if you need to go back that's absolutely fine, nothing you need to do. Once our planned update goes out everything should be a lot more stable and bring it in line with other platforms.

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

Hi @Netduma-Fraser

Is this a bug on the latest firmware 134 where under system information it still shows 130?

Anyone else can confirm?

Unfortunately I can't see the image as it's not been moderated yet.

Are you referring to the DumaOS version field? Perhaps try attaching the image rather than pasting it, I should be able to see it then.

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

Hi guys still running into problems with my XR500 so am going to revert back to an old software version. By the looks of things version .120 seems to be stable for a few people on here but I cannot seem to find this version on Netgear's website its jumps straight from version 2.3.2.114 to 2.3.2.130. Can anyone provide me a link to .120 software version please?

Also what would be the correct procedure to downgrade to this in terms of factory resetting the router?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

.120 is the beta version that can be found here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-DumaOS-3-0/New-Firmware-v2-3-2-120-XR500/m-p/2...

Just downgrade like you would normally upgrade, it's usually best to factory reset after but you would likely get the error on the QoS page so don't do it unless necessary

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

Hi @Netduma-Fraser

Actually, this issue occurs when using remote connection to the router but locally it seemed to reflect the correct version under system information. Oddly, I tried clearing the cache/cookie data this morning from my office before logging on to the router at home and it now shows the correct version.

Thank you for reconfirming. ***SOLVED***

Of course not, that's something that will be fixed. I'll reply to your other comment in your topic.

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

I wouldn't suggest upgrading to a different OS, you may struggle to re-upgrade back to DumaOS and if you have any warranty left that would invalidate it.

Dude chill out it's not that serious there's stable firmware out there. If it affects your life so bad buy a different router.

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.130 Released

And luckily the 134 update is not broken. The 130 update completely crapped itself after a while when I updated to that, I'm glad you guys fixed most of every bug in 134 on 130 most of everything wouldn't connect. After a while I updated I had to format it to factory default and now it all works

Re: New - XR450/XR500 Firmware Version 2.3.2.134 Released

@agents no, say it of the holder of those who got kicked out 300 euros for a router that is not working properly, a long time do not use this scrap, but others that may want to because they can not afford to different hardware, so do not slacken, because it takes already two or three years .

I did this is a public forum plus I have the xr450 which is just like the xr500 minus small differences. Ive only had a few hiccups but for the majority of 2 years this router has been nothing short of amazing.
