Port Forwarding

I have an Xbox and playstation can I set both up with a static ip and forward ports I need for the Xbox and forward the ports I need for playstion
Is that the best way to have both consoles connected to the router.

Best way would be to set up IP address reservations for each console ON the router and uPnP. You should need any PF configurations. 

What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem your using with the XR? Built in router here? Stand alone modem is preferred.
