Questions about the router

I wonder if this router needs a notebook base to cool? Does it get very hot?
Can he stay connected 24 hours a day 7 days a week direct?

Re: Questions about the router

Hi Gimli,

If you are referring to the XR500, then it does not need any cooling. I have the XR500 at my desk and it's been on 24/7 as well and its runs about room temperature.

Just make sure that you don't place the device in an enclosed area. :]

Re: Questions about the router

Hi.

The router does not get very warm. Mine has been on 24/7 since I purchased it on March 6th. Just make sure it in not in an enclosed space and has ventilation.

Re: Questions about the router

Mine stays pretty cool, I would say its room temperature maybe a degree higher . My modem on the other hand I could probably crack a egg on it and fry one no problems.

Re: Questions about the router

Is it necessary to put something underneath it, to be suspended and to have a better circulation of air?

Thank you

Re: Questions about the router

Mine is ontop of my blu ray player with nothing around it. My router is perfectly fine.

Re: Questions about the router

As long as it's not on a surface that would contribute to overheating such as carpet it should be fine.
