R8000 slowed download speeds

My download speed is supposed to be at 100mbs but it's only 2mbs. Upload speeds are fine at 10mbs. Tried factory resseting, had the company come look and they said they get full speed when hooking directly up to the modem which is a Netgear CM600 but wireless it's slowed. I'm not really tech savvy. I need help with this as my family and I game a lot and it's waaaay too slow. Thank you!

Re: R8000 slowed download speeds

do you get full speeds when you directly connect to the modem? Thats the question. Not your isp.

What device are you testing with?

Are you testing 2.4ghz speeds or 5ghz speeds?

Are you using smart connect?

What firmware is on the router?

many say that factory reset but just click the button. Did you push and hold while the device was powered up? Its usually 7-15 seconds to factory reset it.

Re: R8000 slowed download speeds

I tested the speeds myself with a speed test app and through my Xbox on both 2.4 and 5ghz. Not using smart connect. V1.0.4.46_10.1.63 is the firmware. And I held it for 15 seconds to factory reset.

Re: R8000 slowed download speeds

What speeds to YOU get hardwired to the modem?

And the speeds hardwired into the router?

Re: R8000 slowed download speeds

If you're directly connected to the modem and only pulling 20mbps over a wired connection when you should be getting 100mbps, somethings not right.

With any troubleshooting, you need to work each step forward.

Start with the modem. Get that to full speeds. Then move on to the router.

What modem is it? (model)

Can you take a screen snip of your modem connections page?

I'd check the ethernet cable too. They've been bad before.
