Re: XR1000 not able to keep IPv6 Address
My experience with my XR1000 also indicates that Netgear has not --for whatever reason(s)-- corrected this significant loss of important functionality which, as of right now, is still advertised as a core feature of the not inexpensive XR1000!
The issue remains..:
The router is capable of obtaining an WAN IPV6 address via DHCP, and advertising and supporting AUTO CONFIG addressing on the LAN. It does this quite consistently 1) upon successful IPV6 setup, and 2) after restarts.
Unfortunately, the router will stop/drop the IPV6 WAN connection after anywhere from 5 minutes to several days.
Modem is: Humax HGD310 (fully updated)
ISP is: Xfinity 800Mbps
What say you, Netgear?
Are ALL your routers incapable of supporting WAN (Comcast/Xfinity) IPV6 via DHCP? No? Not all of them?
Is the not inexpensive "Gaming Router" XR1000 capable of supporting WAN (Comcast/Xfinity) IPV6 via DHCP?
If your answers are in the negative... why have you not removed IPV6 support from the feature list of the XR1000...AND...what's the actual plan to make current owners whole?
Respectfully

Re: XR1000 not able to keep IPv6 Address
Are you using ISP IPv6 DNS? If so, can you please test the XR router IPv6 DNS configuration and set to a custom IPv6 DNS configuration instead of Auto detected ISP IPv6 DNS. Please try Cloudfare or Quad9.
Reason for asking you to try this, your ISP has been under infrastructure changes over the past year. Been MANY issues coming from there side regarding IPv6 and problematic services. Those issues have effected many NG routers including Orbi systems. Some users have found that changing the IPv6 DNS to something else, stopped the IPv6 issue they were seeing. The issues your seeing seems to be along these lines as you mentioned IPv6 works for a time then seems to stop. This would not be entirely on NG.
Please give the IPv6 DNS custom configuration change a try and let us know what you find.
I'd also make sure the signal up the ISP Modem is too and to spec that is set forth by the modem Mfr. Signals and condition of the signal could be a cause as well. Been many users on that ISP complaining about service issues since they started there changes on there network.
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
