Slow download speed xr500

When I started I had the XR500 directly connected to my ont was getting around 95 down and up which is about 1/3 of what I pay for. So I hooked my gateway back to the ont and the gateway to the XR500 I’m now getting 14 down and around 240 up. How do I fix the down ?

I’ve already reset the ont and the gateway. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the the newest firmware on the XR500. I’ve changed out cables all are cat5e. I’ve checked speeds on hardwire and WiFi both are roughly the same from multiple devices. I have also disabled the qos feature nothing changed.

If you disable QoS completely from the Anti-Bufferbloat option menu do you see your speeds return? Also how are you testing via wifi or ethernet?

I’m having similar problems. I’m getting about half my subscription speed 50 Mbps with QOS fully disabled, I’ve only played one game at full speed the first day I bought it and I’ve had it for 2 months

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What speeds UP and Down do you pay for? 

What are the speed results with a wired PC. 

Gaming on a PC or game console?

Reconnect your previous router and release the IP address, then connect the XR back again and see if it improves. If it doesn't copy the MAC address from your previous router and change the XR router to use it in Internet Setup.

this is a carzy amount of problems..... ive had it 2 months and all ill get is a replacement???? not even an upgrade, oh well...

Yes, I’ve also tried factory reset, change MTU size, and everything else they had me do.

Do the startup wizard again, does that speedtest report your correct speeds?

I never get my true speeds anymore. I tried everything. 

I tried to fix it myself and so far nothing has worked. 
My down is 500+ my up is around 50+ 

Whenever I download anything I'm not even getting 1mps 

Anyone can help me?

Hi Amar, have you set the speeds you expect in the Anti-Bufferbloat options? What is your exact physical setup?

Anti-bufferbloat is always and yes everything is on. 

I'm not sure as I just got my xr500

Are you using a modem/router? Is it connected directly to the XR? Are ALL devices connected to the XR or are some connected to the modem/router?

In the Device Manager click the 3 line icon in the top left of the panel, switch to the table view. What do the link speeds say for the WAN/Internet and LAN ports?

Mines says 1000Mbits should be 4000 for the link speed, how do we fix this?

4000Mbits is impossible namely because:
1. The LAN ports are gigabit - 1000Mbits
2. I have not heard of a residential address having 4 gigabit internet

1000Mbits is what should be showing so sounds as though it is working as expected there.

I feel your frustration, I've had mine for like 5 years - just moved into my new house and just realized again that the XR500 always had this issue without any real solution. Time to  purchase from a different brand.
