That is why it is rarely needed/recommended.
A reset is sometimes required when new firmware adds significant features that are not compatible with the older version. (Same as when Windows screws up drivers.)
It may also be needed when there is a screw up in the new firmware. That's why a lot of people wait for the dust to settle before taking the leap. (They keep their eye on this place for early warning of possible issues.)
Then there are times when user error mucks things up and the victim has failed to preserve a backup of their configuration.

Just updated and came across this aswell. i am using google chrome so all i did was clear cache and it work again.

update router which i shouldnt have based on how im getting this error code then i factory reset and im still getting this error code

hey i am now having this same issue when trying to get into DUMAOS 3.0 and i even tried factory resetting. is there a fix for this yet?
