What Keeps Making Changes

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FCIXOIE1dA4g1QBOHIaXN8imUfwrrwb1/edit?usp=drivesdk&ouid=11205682...

I had to post my log file as docx link for some reason. What keeps making all of these changes to my QoS settings, and even my Geo-Filter settings? The lan access by remote is attempting to connect to my PS4, which is unplugged from the wall. The Ethernet cable is still plugged in, but there is 0 power running to the PS4. I don't know what I should do, but our internet is trash right now. Thank you, in advance.

Re: What Keeps Making Changes

Thanks for adding the part about the dialyzer, I can tell you for certain that is absolutely the unknown MAC address you're seeing so definitely don't block it! Reason I am so certain is because someone else had an unknown MAC address and it was the same or a similar medical device. The MAC address is private for those devices which is why it doesn't appear when you do a lookup.

There is nothing alarming in the logs from what I can see so all good there, though the disconnects are likely due to DHCP so please do the following.
On the LAN Settings page, set the DHCP range to start at .50 (so the end is around 250 I believe), then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .49 so they're out of the DHCP range, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects.

Re: What Keeps Making Changes

Save the log in a notepad and upload the .txt file, the google link isn't working. Without looking though QoS will be making the changes and the Geo-Filter will be making the changes, the logs show background processes and are primarily aimed at the developers - they can look like issues to a user but it is absolutely fine.

Can you explain more about the issue you're having with the internet?

Re: What Keeps Making Changes

I will upload the txt file in just a second. The main issue we are having with the internet is our devices are going offline, then coming back online, on their own. We keep getting messages saying "Netgear17 has no access to the internet." It's happening on all devices, too.
Also, when I go into the device manager, there is something on our network that nobody seems to be able to identify. The MAC address, when searched at aruljohn, returns 0 results as well.

Also, when I run a bandwidth test, it's returning results of 280mbps down, 5-8mbps up. Our internet package is for 500mbps down, and 25mbps up. So, I'm unsure as to what is going on. For what it's worth, when I click on Network Monitor, it always shows that the unknown device is using up a ton of bandwidth. I would block it, just to identify it, but I'm afraid it might be my dad's dialyzer.

Ok, I'm converting the file now.

Re: What Keeps Making Changes

I keep getting told I am using an invalid extension. I'm also unloading my groceries but wanted you to know I'm right here dealing with this.

Re: What Keeps Making Changes

Trying again.
I'm going to have to post if as a .jpg, .gif, .png, or .off according to red box I keep getting that explains my errors with the post.

Re: What Keeps Making Changes

Thank you for this advice. I did not see it whilst trying to edit my post to a .txt file, so I apologize.
Funny you mention someone else having a dialyzer; it may have been one of my posts. I remember talking about it in one of my other posts.

I noticed the frequent DHCP changes as well, and wondered why it seemed to randomly happen. This exact same scenario happened last night, but the logs actually showed a DOS WinNuke entry listed. I know not to worry about those through all of the readings I've done here, as the logs are meant for the devs to troubleshoot.

Re: What Keeps Making Changes

Ah yes it was you actually! You can take a look at the bottom of that post if you want to double check my reasoning but I'm pretty confident that is the case.

Yes exactly, the most likely cause is the DHCP renewals, it is something NG are working on as well.

Re: What Keeps Making Changes

I will give this a shot when I get back home, and will remember to let you know how it works out. Thank you for all of your work here. You reply to almost all of my posts that I'm sure, to you, are nonsense. I appreciate the respect you've always shown me no matter how stupid my question may be.

Great, interested to hear how it turns out! Never a stupid question, that's what we are here for!
