What is the changelog for firmware V2.3.2.40 XR500

I see there is a new firmware update for the XR500 and I want to know what changes are coming with this update.

Could this finaly be the update with all the new features that the DUMA OS should have had by now ?

Yes it is the update with the new features such as hybridvpn and ping assist. It has been long awaited

When you go to the update link in the web console it will show you patch notes. I'm pretty sure you can read them without actually committing to the patch. Didn't make a copy so don't have it at hand and I can no longer get there because I have already patched.

Most noticable new feature is the change of the VPN client over to hybridVPN and the support of a second VPN provider (pureVPN in addition to HMA).

If I recall correctly there were also tweaks to geo-filtering, ping information, and some bug fixes relating to speed testing as part of setup as well as in the mobile app.

We’ll need Netgear to post the full changelog, but I can confirm this includes ALL of DumaOS development milestone 1.3. So this includes:

- Hybrid VPN
- Ping Assist
- Advanced Ping Stats
- Table view on Device Manager

That is my issue right now this new update which is a day old ain’t on Netgear or nighthawks website and I can’t find the patch notes. I had to do the auto update since I can’t find the manual download which ain’t a issue I just wanna know everything they tweaked and changed/added in. I’m sure they will put it out eventually but should have came out yesterday with the update I don’t understand why they would not release it on their website.

Yes. I actually tried to post a report and solution for it here already but it didn't make it through apparently. In any case here is my problem description and a solution that worked for me:

Nature of the problem: One of the pinned panes on the dashboard is related to the error report. For me it was the top right corner.

Solution: I kept unpinning the pane in the system information page and go back to dashboard to see if the error is gone. After unpinning two panes the error disappeared. I repinned, and all was back to before without the error.

I see a really high CPU usage after this update , is the case on your XR500 too ?

I never paid attention to that. Currently I see on average one cpu at below 20% and one below 40%. It can peak occasionally but that is where it is typically. Haven't noticed any performance issues network-wise so had no grounds to be worried. CPU usage does not concern me unless there is an impact on network performance.

I doubt this is relevant - but could you go to Hybrid VPN and click disable.

It's also worth rebooting the router again.

That was my first steps before reporting it , but no change whatsoever either on or off doesn't matter

Okay great, in that case I wouldn't worry too much about it, just keep an eye on it and see if it causes any issues.

well high temperature will reduce the lifetime of my router for sure.

It depends what kind of temperature it is, the router will be running constantly so it is likely to be warm to the touch.

I keep a laptop cooler under my router 24/7.

Run PingPlotter to the router with just 1 wired PC connected to the router, and the router not connected to the ISP modem. Then run pingplotter from the PC thru the router to the modem. Then a final test thru the router and modem to a web site or the pingplotter web site.
