Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
Hi,
Hope someone can help me with this issue. Since I changed my ISP I cannot connect wired devices with wireless devices in my home network. I have tried everything, restoring the router, changing some options and nothing...
To give you some examples, I cannot do game streaming on my Xbox One (Wired) to my laptop (wireless), watching a Plex movie from mny laptop (wireless) to my TV (wired) or use Chrome Remote Control from my PC (wired) to my laptop (wireless). I took a look at the logs and when trying for example the game streaming, the router is detecting the connection as a DOS attack. I tried to deactivate de DOS attack protection but still cannot connect.
I know it is not my ISP fault because when using the router from my ISP all work flawleslly. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
that whole "the router from my isp works flawlessly" seems to indicate that you have it running on the network .
How exactly is your network setup with models/setup.
modem/gateway-------->router----->another router?/switches?
be specific in what you have setup and running. You could be in a double nat if you have 2 routers running on the same network.

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
Hi,
I have a ONT then an ethernet from it to the Netgear. I had to set up the VLAN with specific ISP values.
Router: Nighthawk XR500
No additiional routers
1 Switch in the living room.
Cheers

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
My ISP is Orange (Spain). The ONET is Nokia G-010G-P
Also I didn't check the double NAT thing... I can see in the Device Manager field that most of my wireless devices have both IPV6 address and local IPV4 address... could this be the reason? Sorry if I'm saying something nosense, this goes far my knowledge. 🙂
Here you have an screenshot of what I can see in Devige Manager field.

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
I already have IPV6 deactiovated in the Netgear. Also this is what happen to me, 2.4 to 2.4 or 5 to 5 can connect perfectly. Also sometimes I have issues when connecting 2.4 to 5, but it is just the printer. It is just a matter of Wired - Wireless.

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
Hi again,
Definitively the issue is that Wireless devices hace double NAT, with an iPV4 and another iPV6. This weird because I have iPV6 deactivated in the router. Any ideas to solve this?
Thanks

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
just to confirm, you're going:
ont------>xr500------->switches/device
are the devices directly connected to the xr500?
or to the switch?
Do all of them not working wired?
have you tried disabling sip alg?

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
Hi,
ONT----> XR500------>3 ethernet port directly to 3 devices, 1 ethernet port to Switch with another 4 devices.
All wired devices (Switch or directly to XR500) have only ipV4.
SIP ALG already deactivated...since the very first day.

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
Already tried and same issue. As a note a couple of wireless devices are not getting a iPV6 (Thermostat and Camera) just an iPV4 and with those I have zero issues connecting from wired to wireless.

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
Yes, in fact it was disable by default. I cannot understand why devices have an IPV6 address if this setting is deactivated.

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
Hi,
I tried with my iPad, and although it seems that the router only assigned only an iPV4 after a few seconds it also gives the iPad iPV6.
Any new suggestions? This is super weird...

Re: Wired devices cannot connect with wireless devices
Yes, only Wireless devices. About being a Beta issue, I don't think so. I installed the beta 3.0 OS just a couple of days ago. I have been dealing with this issue for a year, but I didn't bothered a lot till now that I'm working from home and I struggle with this issue every day.
