XR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error

I just bought the XR1000 router to hardwire my Xbox Series X to. After installation and setup, I downloaded the newest 1.0.0.64_1.0.49 firmware and factory reset.
All of the apps work except for the Geo-Filtering. When I first clicked on it, I got an error saying it couldn't connect to the cloud. After factory resetting again and resyncing to the cloud the error finally went away (tried just resync and restart with no luck). Now though, when trying to change the home location (defaults to CA), I get the error: "RPC error 'ERROR_CMDFAIL': Exec '//usr/bin/geoip -f /tmp/geoip_ipc2 -h -a "44" -l "-89"' failed with 1". I have tried to hardwire as well as use both wifi signals with no luck. This error pops up with any of the modes (poly or address) I use. Picture of error attached.

Hi guys,
Just wanted to follow up on this. I apologize for the delay in response. I was out of town for the last week and not able to try this.
Last night I tried to play an online game with my Xbox Series X and I couldn't connect to online MP. I checked the multiplayer connection and was told I couldn't get a teredo IP address. I did some digging and someone mentioned activating the IPv6 setting on the router fixed their issue. So I activated mine using the Auto Connect setting. Once that was activated and I restarted the router, the error disappeared for the Geo-Filter.
So I never did the manual upload of the new firmware but this did seem to solve for the error. Not sure if that makes sense or something just reset itself in the time I was gone but things seem to be working now.
Thank you guys for all your help and troubleshooting!

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Nighthawk Pro Gaming Routers - NETGEAR Communities
Gaming routers have their own DumaOS operating system that is nothing like the one on Netgear's standard routers.
You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Re: XR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error
What browser are you using? Try MS Edge or FireFox.
Be sure to clear out ALL browser caches before entering the routers web page.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended

Re: XR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error
My modem is a Motorola Surfboard SB6141. I have them connected by a Vandesail Cat7 high speed cable and then another one from the router to the Xbox.
I initially was using Chrome but also downloaded Edge and tried safari with the same error popping up in all 3. Have tried clearing the cache with no change in the outcome.

Re: XR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error
I initially used the pin and that's when the error showed up. I also tried the polygon and set by address options with no change in the results. The error code changes slightly to specify the polygon mode but the home address option gives the same error code as with the pin drop.

Re: XR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error
Might try this if you have the FW file v.64 on your PC already, disconnect the router from the modem.
Use the one wired PC connected to the router and re-load the FW file. After the router is back to ready, factory reset the router using the ERASE button: https://kb.netgear.com/24233/How-do-I-erase-the-configuration-settings-on-my-Nighthawk-router
Let the router reset.
Clear browser cache here.
Walk thru the setup wizard here. Can skip anything mentioned no ISP detected.
Get to the Home screen.
Set up the wifi only, leave all other features alone for now.
I would go in and change the default IP address pool range to .100 to .200. Apply and let the router reboot. Under LAN Setup.
When the router reboots, connect the ISP modem to the router.
When the router is back to ready, see if Geo Filter works in MS EDGE.

Re: XR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error
Armor was initially active when I ran into the issue but I turned it off last night and am still seeing this error today.
I will try to load the FW as you described. Do I use a cable from PC to the LAN or WAN on the router once disconnecting the Modem? Or does that not matter?

Re: XR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error
Ok. Good to know.
Use the LAN for the ethernet connected PC.
Be sure you do a full on factory reset and setup from scratch. Do not re-enable Armor at any point.

Re: XR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
