XR450 Port Forwarding not working
Hoping someone can help because I'm at my wits end trying to get my home security system working with the Nighthawk XR450. I have an Amcrest 8 camera DVR system setup that has worked just fine with ...

I logged in just now to report the same thing with my R6250. i saw an email about the firmware update, logged into the router and clicked check for update. The R6250 politely said NO NEW FIRMWARE AVAILABLE.
i also noticed there were two updates available. I did the updates in two steps, checking to see if the automatic update would return after flashing to the 1.0.4.44 version which was released September 23, 2020. The automatic update detection failed with that firmware as well.
I am now on the 1.0.4.48 firmware. I have no idea if the router remains hobbled when the next firmware upgrade appears.
Please let us know what to expect.
Thanks.

It is connected to a Netgear CM500 modem. I would have thought they would work well together, but obviously I'm missing something. Reading now that they may not be bridged properly for NAT? But I do have an older, slower router that works just fine with the CM500. No issues getting port forwarding to work. Not sure what's the deal with the CM500 / XR450 combo.

It is a modem so should be no issues but I've just seen that it does have QoS on it so could you disable that please and then reboot the XR and see if it works.

Wow, that seems to have fixed it. But what does QoS do? Seems like something to help with online gaming? As long as it doesn't create a security vulnerability, or mess up streaming with Netflix (I don't play online games very much) then maybe it's better off being disabled?
