Re: XR450 not giving full speeds on 2.4GHZ band
I got an email yesterday from NG support asking to give more information. I've passed this on to them regarding not seeing warranty information for this router on my account.
I'm hoping that @DarrenM can pass on to engineering about the low speeds were seeing on 2.4Ghz with some devices. Others I'm not. I have a freind who has the XR500 and he told me he sees the same issue there as well.

Re: XR450 not giving full speeds on 2.4GHZ band
I really hope it gets fixed soon or i'm returning the router back to Costco. Not worth wasting my time if my old 4 year old router can give me the speeds I want.

Re: XR450 not giving full speeds on 2.4GHZ band
Just wanted to let you guys know that I returned the router back to Costco today. It is very disappointing that a brand new router can't achieve full wifi speeds on the 2.4Ghz band when every other router I have owned do it just fine.

Re: XR450 not giving full speeds on 2.4GHZ band
Sorry it didnt' work out for you. I'll keep pushing NG to fix this. Yes, it should be able to achieve much higher speeds on 2.4Ghz. Mine finally went online today with a new NG modem. I'll be testing this and a few other things as time goes on.

Re: XR450 not giving full speeds on 2.4GHZ band
Another reason was I didn't see a huge improvement from my old AC router. The best thing going for the XR450 is the geo filter map which I will miss. Thank you for taking time and helping me troubleshoot the router!

Not sure what the Apple Mini has for a chip set.
I'll find out what the D-Link DWA-192 uses...

Re: XR450 not giving full speeds on 2.4GHZ band
Something wrong with N mode? Could be why my 192 adapter was working it it supports AC mode, even thought the Mac Mini supports AC I believe. I'll check again. The TrendNet adapter only supports up to N mode which maybe why it wasn't working. I don't know the chip set with in it. I'll see if I can find out. I have a D-Link DIR-868l and 880L that supports wireless bridge mode so I can test them on 2.4Ghz. I beleive those are broadcom chipsets.

If you ever get a chance or for anyone else with the same issue change the wifi adapter to use AC or if it doesn't support AC then b/g instead and see if that resolves the issue.

Re: XR450 not giving full speeds on 2.4GHZ band
Thanks, this confirms what I just got from D-Link.
Wonder whats wrong with Qualcom chip sets and N mode?
I see that TrendNet adapter I have is Ra-Link:

DIR-868L

DIR-880L:

Will try these and see what I find on 2.4Ghz...

Re: XR450 not giving full speeds on 2.4GHZ band
Ran some basic testing with a DIR-880L in wireless bridge mode connected to 5Ghz to the XR450. Could not get speeds on the down much over 100Mb. Bad upload speeds on the UP, nothing much over 10Mb. 880L is about 15-20 feet away line of site.
I may revert back to initial FW on the 450 and re-test again. This was my oriignal plan after getting the 450 setup however something seemed to auto update with ouy my knowledge.

Hi Fraser,
Just wondering if you've heard anything more from NG about this. I don't want this to fall off the radar.

Please PM me with this beta information and I'll see if it resolves this issue. My 450 is currenly online.
Thank you.
