Try Motorolas MB74xx series or Arris 6183 or 8200. These are Broadcom based modems.
I have the MB7420 and connected to my XR500. Wonderful operations.
Please avoid the SB6190 and any other Intel based modems.

There is none specifically that I would recommend but I'd say to avoid those with the Puma 6 chipset as they have issues with latency (not sure if that's been resolved on all of them yet).
